Property sales news | June sees increasing prices
If you have property for sale, you will welcome new statistics that showed that prices gained during June. Whilst the three months to June saw a 0.5% decline in the average cost of a home when compared against the same period a year before, house prices for June alone rose by 1%.
Halifax housing economist Martin Ellis said that there had been a noticeable improvement in the housing market’s annual rate of change, explaining: “A year ago, in May 2011, house prices were falling at an annual rate of 4.2%. In contrast, there has been broad stability recently with the annual rate between 0% and -0.5% in each of the past three months.” He warned, however, that he did not expect a huge change in sales or prices to occur for the rest of 2012, with the market staying stable but being unlikely to grow.
For those who want to use a local estate agent, Charlton Grace in Basingstoke is ideal for taking advantage of the small price increase that has been noted. Having an experienced local agent can offer huge benefits in helping to determine the ceiling price on your home when compared to those around it, taking into account property features, recent house sales and the latest price gains. For those who have property for sale, the latest price gain could make current property prices look more attractive when compared against new homes coming onto the market.
